How to request deletion
NeighborLink lets you request that your account and the personal data associated with it be deleted. There is no fee.
Send the request from the same email address you use to sign in to the NeighborLink app.
- Email hello@neighborlinq.ai.
- Use the subject line: Delete my NeighborLink account.
- Include your full name and the name of your community.
- We reply to confirm the request and complete deletion within 30 days.
Data we delete
After we verify the request, we delete or permanently anonymize the following data tied to your account:
- Your profile, including your name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
- Sign-in codes, session tokens, and push-notification tokens.
- Your community membership and verification documents you uploaded, such as a utility bill.
- Posts, comments, event RSVPs, marketplace listings, messages, and wellness progress you created.
Data we keep, and for how long
Some records are kept only where we need them for security, fraud prevention, disputes, or the law. They are not used to operate your account after it is deleted.
- Moderation reports and admin audit logs that mention the account, for up to 24 months.
- Content other members still rely on, such as a message in a shared thread, with your name removed.
- Encrypted backups, which may still contain a copy for up to 30 days.
- Records a law or an active legal claim requires us to hold, kept only for that required period and then deleted.
Deleting some data only
NeighborLink does not offer a separate way to delete part of your data while keeping the account. You can edit your profile in the app. Deleting the account is the way to request removal of the data listed above.
